This year, you will write at least one paragraph every night that you had a Library Media Aide class during the day. The purpose for this assignment is to strengthen your descriptive writing skills and provide a record for yourself, your parents and for me about what you do each day during this class. I prefer 3 paragraphs of well-written, correctly spelled descriptive record of what you did during your Library Media Aide class. This blog participation is one rubric for this class. The more that you write the higher your grade will be in the class.

I rolled up posters and put sticky notes on them so that I knew what category they should go under. It was a little bit harder today rather than befor because the posters that I rolled up today had more categories and they were more broad categories too.

Today I helped out a student to find a book, her book was already checked out(she was dissappointed).
I add some books donated books to a list on Ms. Roof's labtop. I checked in acouple of books.

In media aide on sep 24 we glued some books together that had been broken. We also checked in some books but we had to magnetize them and make sure they went off. That’s about it but I had fun that day.

We shelved books today. We had a sub(No Mrs.Roof! PARTY! PARTY!) Then we got to check out books but not for long because Mr.Sub started yelling at us. Than we played video games on the computer for the rest of the time.

Today in Media Aide, Savannah and I put Genre lables on books. We put the correct ones on instead of the incorrect ones. It was actually pretty fun. Today was a half day so we didn’t get to do much.

Today in Media Aide, Savannah and I made Halloween bookmarks. They were soooo cute. We finally finished cutting and printing them. After we were done with that, we hung up enviormental posters on Ms.Roof's buliton board.

Today in Media Aide, Savannah and I laminated posters and organized the drawers which contain all of the posters. It was a lot of work. Unfortunately, the bell rang and we didn’t finish in time.
Today in media aid Abby and I laminated posters to hang on the walls of the media center. We also got sticky notes to put on the posters that would tell what those posters were. I cut the laminated posters so the outsides were not big.

On October 9, we covered paper back books with flexible laminate paper that helped the books keep "safe." it was cool because the paper could be removed at any time and not pull the paper off the book and ruin it.
October 11, 2007 we helped Ms. Roof with some posters and checked in a couple of books and put them away on the shelves.
On October 11, we helped Ms. Roof check in a lot of books and then we put them back on the shelves in alphabetical order. We also rolled up posters and put a rubber band around them.
October 15, 2007 Ms. Roof had our class write on the over due books from simis library. Then we put the highlighted papers in the teachers cubbies.
Today in Media Aide, we highlighted overdue books on the papers. Then we put the papers into the teachers' mailboxes. It was kinda fun i guess but alyssa jenna and i were all tired and worn out. There were like 100. no joke. :]]
Today we put info in teachers cuby holes. We also typed list of books for Mrs. Roof and that was it for today.

Today we filed publishers catolgs in the back room. We threw away the old ones in put in 2007 versions. There was a huge pile of catologs to file. It was kind of fun because it was our first few days. Now were doing a lot more fun stuff.
Today me and Ms. Roof sorted everything out about my missed blogs. I have A's and B's now and my dad's happy. I'm glad we got it all sorted out.

Today we but the stickers on the back of Ms. Roofs library cards. We also recorded which posters were in Drawer #2. Today was my first day back at school, since I was on vacation last week.
Today in media aid Tom and I organized books and wrote them on a piece of paper. We didnt do much after that but it was still a fun media aid.

Todays class was very fun because we did activities we could all do together. Ms. Roof had us work with business cards, and it was our job to finish them. We had to stick Ms. Roof's information cards on the Meadows Library cards. Afterwards, Ms.Roof took us to the backroom to title posters. We had to put a title on all of the posters in the drawers. This was fun and easy to do.
Today we sorted posters. Most of them had sticky notes on them and we had to count them and write what they had on them. After that we started to put the sticky notes on then the bell rang.
Today in Media Aide, October 15th, I checked only two books this time! And then for the rest of the period, I updated the PowerPoint. This is all I did in Media Aide today.

In media aid on October 11, 2007, we checked in the books. After that Mary and I organized some books in the non-fiction area. We had a fun time today!
Today in media aid we checked in books, as usual. After that we organized books in the non-fiction sections. Last we looked at the "PIMP MY BOOK CART". We found out, we might enter this contest.
wednesday 10,2007-Today in media aide I checked out a few books and checked some books out.
Today in media aid Abby and I lamenated posters and cut them out. We also categorized the posters with sticky notes, and hung some posters up around the library!

Today I had to do a lot in media aide. What I did was I had a list of teacher names and I had to assort packets into other teachers mail boxes. It was a little confusing for me, because I had to memorize the number of packets each teacher needed for their classes.
Today in media aide I typed alot on a computer. I had to type in author, and titles for books for Ms.Roof. That's about all I did today in media aide.
today we checked in books, then we listed the names of posters and paper clipped stickie notes to them. that took the hole period.

Today we worked on magnitizing books. All the books that did not go off with the sensor, we put magnetic strips in them. Today we also used the hand-held scanner.
August 27th-
There was a substitute today in Media Aide, so we didn't get to do that much. First, we organized the shelfs, Ms.Roof gave us assignments to certain shelfs, and we had to make sure that that they were all in order. The finally, we just got to hang around and play on the computers!!!! This is what I did in Media Aide today.
ON September 27, we had a substitute in Media Aide. We couldnt check in books because the computer wasnt logged on to ms. roof's account. So instead of that we had our papers and went over to our shelfs to see if our shelves were in order.
August 29th-
Today in Media Aide, we did the magazine subscription organizations. We had to replace all of last months magazines, with new ones. We also had to put stickers with the months of that magazine, and save them in their apppropriate basket. This is what I did in Media Aide today.
This is make-up for 8-31
Today we magnitized and demagnitized book, made book covers for hard-cover books and taped the barcodes on aswell. Also, we placed books in alphebetical order. It took along time to match the barcodes up with the actual book.
On September 25, we magnetixzed a lot of books and make sure that they beeped. :] we also put books back in order on the shelf in alphabetical and numerical order. I made sure that the security system went off haha longgg storyy.
September 21, 2007 Our class cataloged a whole bunch of books. We also checked in a couple of books, and magnatized them and also put them through the security system. Rachel and I made a few changes on the silent powerpoint.
On October 1, ms. roof had students check in some books and magnetized them. we also handled the overdue books. It was hard and we were all tired.. :]](jenna, alyssa, and i) and then we put them into the teachers mailboxes.

Today in the library, we magnitized and demagnitizd books. Also, we learned how to catolog. When we catologed, we added books in to the computer system. Lastly, we matched some books up with their barcodes.
September 27, 2007 Ms. Roof was not here so the substitute had us look through the book shelves to make sure that the books were all in order. Some of us were assigned to look through the books in alphabetical order and numerical order.
August 31st-
All of the stufents helped in putting barcodes on all of the new books that Ms.Roof bought. We also put tmagnetic strips in them, and stamped the insides. Then we began to catalog the books into the system, but we were shortly ended with the bell. This is what I did in Media Aide today.
September 5th-
We helped Ms.Roof catalog some of the many new books that were being added to the library. This process is long, and can get messed up easily, so we only got through a few books. Then Ms.Roof printed out some new bar code lables, and we put them on the books. This is what I did in Media Aide today.
On October 5, We put book labels onto the books. We put barcode labels on the spine and front. We taped them on so they would stay. We also checked in some books and magnetized them.

On October 17, we checked in one book, and magnetized it. we also checked our shelves to make sure they were in order. after that we put away about 10-15 books.

Placed magnetic striped in the books, witched are used for securty reasons. Also we had to take a cart to the office for the PTM moms.

We weeded the books by skanning in the books that were weeded from the collection. We also checked in returned book and used the portible scanner to scan books that were used in the library.

We spent the perod doing all the blogging that we missed previous classes. That was all we did most of that class perod.
Today I helped Ms. Roof type some titles on the computer. I typed NBA, Mystery's, and Lacrosse ext..
Then I did some work on the smart board.

I'm back from Hawaii!!! It's so good to see everybody!! Especially LOGAN!!!! Today in Media Aide we spent a long time coloring bookmarks, except it turned out deleting them all. Oh well. It's good to be back and HI EVERYBODY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
KATIE IS BACK!!! Today in media aid me Tom, and finally Katie clolored book marks!!! When we tried to print them it wouldnt print!!! We spent so much time on it!!! Anyways it was fun because we mostly talked about Hawaii and other things!!
Today in Media Aide I first did the annoucements with Erin. Then I organized all the annoucements for tomorrow morning. After that I continued putting posters into different catagories. The last thing that I did before the bell rang was put all the posters back into the drawer that they belonged too.
October 17th-
Today in Media Aide, we really did not do anything...but that is not a bad thing!! We arrived in the library, and then Ms. Roof told us to go organize out sections again, while she printed out progress reports for everyone. Then we took our progress reports, and found out what we were missing for blogging, and we did make up work for blogging for the rest of the period!!! At least it helped my grade!!! This is what I did in Media Aide today.
today we filed books. I found out where the everybody section is. we also got to check out books. then we labled posters.
For Friday, 10/12, I started the day doing the usual thing, checking books back into the library. My first job is to check the return bin and then process the books. Then I worked with the other Aides by helping the front office get letters out to the classrooms. We put the letters in the cubbies for the teachers. The teachers would then give them to the students in their homeroom.
On Tuesday, 10/16, Ms. Roof called us to come to the back room. Once we were there, three of the Aides, including me, were given special assignments. Two of us were to take recently donated books and create a chart on the computer. The chart was to contain the author, the title and the publishing company for each book. The other job was to separate the posters into their designated drawers. Unfortunately, the directions for these jobs took so long that the bell rang before we could get to work!
today in media aid we typed. we typed the list of poster naames that werent alredy on there.it took the whole period and was not very fun.

Today, Ms. Roof gave me a list of all the posters in Drawer #2 so I could make sure that all the rolled up ones were marked down correctly. There were actually a couple of missing posters inside other rolled up posters. But really, all the marked posters ended up on the list.
October 16, 2007 In media aide Ms. Roof had all of the students check the book shelves. She had us make sure that the books were all in order, either alphabetically or numerically. And she gave us a little bit of free time to go on the computer and catch up on some blogging assignments that I forgot to do.
Today in media aid we went on Ms.Roof's computer to check if books were in the library and if she had them. If they were not on the list of all the books she didn't have we would have to write it in. If they were on the list we just had to check them off.

This is make-up for 10/11
Today, we magnitized and demagnitized books as well as put them away on the shelves. After that, began to roll up posters and lable them so Ms.Roof can identify them. Other than that, the day was fairly leisurly.
On monday, we magnitize and demagnitized books and put them on the shelf. We also catologed a bit. After that, we cover the barcodes with clear tape to protect them. Lastly, we put genre stickers on the spine of the book.
Yesterday, we magnitized and placed them on the shelf in alphebetical order. When we were done, we examined our shelves to make sure books were in the correct place and added some recently checked in books back. We had almost the whole period to our selves to make up blogs we had missed.
Today in Media Aide, Savannah and I laminated a ton of posters and then catogorized them in the correct drawers. Then, we hung a bunch of posters around the library. But then of course that bell always rings!
10/16/o7- Today in meadia aid we had some fun. We organized some books and entered in yhe books into the computer. this is for telling us who gave the book to the school.
Today in media aide I rolled up posters and wrote down the catagories they go in. There were alot of old posters that Ms.Roof still has from maybe a long time.
Today i heped a student find a Halloween book for class. I talked to Mr. Perlman about computer stuff and thats about it.

Today in media aid, October 18 2007 we got in class, and checked in a couple of books. After that Mrs. Roof told us to sit at a table. At the table, we brain stormed about new equipment in the library. We are getting really excited about this new equipment.
Today in Media Aide, Savannah and I checked in a couple of books and put them trough the sensor. Then scanned books that are used. We also made a list of books donated to the library. Then we blogged.

Today we got to check in books and checked them on the scanner. Then we put books on shelfs. Then we read and blogged. Then we left.
We laminated a bunch of articles. And then when put theminto catagories saying what kind of poster it is. we had fun!!

Today we magnitized all the books that had been chcked in. Then we would go through the sencer and see if it would go off, Most of them did but if they didn't we woyld have to put the "secret" in the books.

We put more posters in catagories. At the end we got a class. We got to check people out, check in people, and renew peoples books!
Today we started off with the usual cheaking in of books. Then Ms.Roof called us into the back room. She gave me the job of updating a power point. This slide show is broadcast onto a specialchannel that only the school can receive. This channel also has on it the school news for that week.

Today I was not at school.On this day I was actually in Scottsdale. I had the oppurtunity to caddie for professional golfers. It was a lot of fun and the golf course was beautiful. But now I am back at school and am ready to learn, i'm also ready to go back to media aide.
Today we lifted table(50IBS). We also lifted chairs(10IBS). That was about it for today and it was hard.
Today was the hardest day yet. We had to move all the tables and chairs off to the side for a speech. There was like 30 of them.

Today in media aide, we stamped books. We also crossed out other library names that were on the books. It was fun, and I can't beleive its already the end of the quarter.
Today in media aid Tom, Katie, and I all stamped books. They were new books so I had to block out the little stamps already on the book saying Phoenix library with a sharpie. Tom and Katie just stamped the books. It was a nice media aid.

Today a librarian from a Phoenix Public Library came in to talk to two classes, a 5th grade class and an 8th grade class. She talked about something like Funny Book Week, I think. I had to sit on a table, since the chairs and floor facing her were taken.

Today Meadows had a speacial visitor. We had a librarian from one of the Phoenix Public Librarys come and talk with us. She talked about what was happening at the Phoenix Librarys and some of the kinds of books you can check out. This took up the whole class period.

Today, Friday October 19, we had a lady from the Phoenix Public Llibrary came to talk to us about books shethought was funny then we blogged.

Today I checked in books. I checked barcodes and added them to our library. Today Ms. Roof told us about a possibility for a second story. SSh don’t tell.

Today we edited some books in the system. Before that ms. Roof helped someone. Then we blogged
Today I and Matthew were going to publish book but instead we organized them. We first stated with the fiction section then if we finished we would do the decimals. We finished so we just read.
10/22/07 today Ethan and I first organized books. We started in the numbers section. Then we moved to the letters and organized.
Today in media aid Abby and I made sure that a couple of books were magnetized, we also checked the security on this one book. After that we put the laminated book covers on the books with tape. When we were finished we stapled these mounthly things for Ms. Roof.

Today in Media Aide, Savannah and I made sure that a couple of books were checked in and magnetized. Then we checked the security on one of the books. We also cut out 2 book covers that were laminated and folded them to fit the crease on the books. Then we had to tape them on so they would stay. After that we stapled monthly things together for Ms. Roof. When we were all done, we blogged!

Todday we put stickers on the sides of books that needed them. The stickers were really hard to get off their backings. We also made sure that all of the books got magnetized properly.

Today we first magnitized one book so the first part of class went by quickly. Ms. Roof had us put spine labels on the books, which took a LONG time. We then had to magnitize them and make sure they all worked. This took so long I am blogging with 2 minutes to spare!
Today in mdeia aide, Mrs.Roof had to film a presentation Mr.Meyer was doing. We all had to go into his class and listen. It was a pretty good presentation, it was about World War 2.
Today I taped the barcodes to books so they can be scanned. Then I checked in several books by using the electronic scanner. Finally, I confirmed that each book I taped had the required magnetic strips for students to use while checking a book from the library.
Today in media aid our class didnt do anything related to the library. Our media aid class and the people from peer tutor went to Mr. Zipser's classroom to watch Mr. Myer give a presentation that Ms. Roof was filming.

Today we did the famous late books. Me and Phoebe did the wrong thing...but had fun. We decided to have fun and write many thing on it. Oops. But thats what we did all day. It was...okay...I guess...so yea. That's about it.
Today we went to mr.Zipsers class. During mr.Zipsers class Mr.Myers came in and gave a presentation on japenese- americans being sent to camps.
Today we were going to tape a video in Mr. Zispers class. The video got cancelled and we got to play games all day. That was all we did for our Media Aide class.

Today in Media Aide, we first checked in books and magnatized the, just like our normal routine. Then I went into the back and updated the PowerPoint with the new lunch menu and new birthdays for the week. Then Jenna and I took a camera and a tripod up to Mr.Zipser's classroom, to set up. Then after that, we just chilled in the library!! HAHA!!! This is what I did in Media Aide today.
Today in media aide I checked in returned books from students. I put books in number and alphabetical order. That's all I did today since Ms.Roof wasn't here.

10/24/07 today as soon as I got in I saw that we had a substitute teacher. I asked Ethan what we were doing today. He told me that we were organizing books. So I organized my books and then I went to go blog.
On October 22, we cataloged a few books. (i worked with my bestie-Alyssa). We made sure the books were updated the right way too. then we checked in and magnetized some books. then we put the barcodes on the books and put tape over the bar codes.
October 25, 2007 In media aide my class checked the shelves to make sure that the books were all in order. Then we had time to read some books and do any homework.
Today in Media Aide, There was a substitute so we did our normal routine of going to our assigned shelfs, and organizing then and making sure that they were all in order. Then the substitute let us get our blogging homework done, which I am doing right now. Then she said that we can do other homeowrk, read a book, or play on the computer! This is what I did in Media Aide today.
On October 25, we shelved the books. I checked the shelves A-Bel. I made sure that they were in order by the author. The we had some time to do homework and read a couple of books.
Today we had a sub so we didnt do that much. The only thing we do when we have a sub is to orgaize shelf. So all we did today was orgaize shelfs.
Today October 23 we went to watch a speech but it got cancled. Then we went to order books. Then we helped people.

Today was probably our shortest class. Maybe it was because we had a substitute teacher. All she had us do was remagnitize some books and check to make sure that the library was in order. And now I can look forward to a half day Friday and FALLBREAK.

Today Ms. Roof was not here, so we had a substitute teacher. I checked my assigned section to make sure all of the books were in the right place. It was unusually quiet, but I am definitely okay with that.
Today we had a sub. I had to straighten the books. Hley and Parker werent there!!
today we went into a 8th grade class and saw the social studies teacher. Mrs.roof recorded it. they worked on a presentation together over the summer

Today we ha a subsitute and we just went to our selfs. All my books were in tip top shape. Since mine was pretty fast I went and helped Phoebe. Mary checked in books all day. Everytime she finsihed, kids came in and put more in the box.
Today in media aide I put away a few books. I also cleaned every table in the library spotless. The mess was from all the teacheer's who ate breakfast.That's pretty much all I did today.
todat was a boring day we put som metal stips in the books. Then we cleand off table. that was about it.
Today in media aid October 26, 2007 we had a substitute. She said to look in our sections and make sure everything was in the correct spots. I had section 815-930 or something like that. After we checked our spots, we played on the computer. Today was pretty fun!
In media aid October 22, 2007 we checked in books. After that we decorated our equipment cart. I hope we WIN!!!!! Mrs. Roof is going to take the picture and send it to the contest people.
Today in Media Aide, there was a substitute. She really didn't know what she was doing, so it was like a free period. Actually, we had to organize a few of the misordered shelves. Then, I checked in a couple books and magnetized them. After that, we blogged because we were bored. AND THAT WAS OUR DAY!

Today we had to find books for a teacher. Alot of the books were not here though. That is all we did today as media aids.

Today in Media Aide we hecked off the lissts of a cetain topic of books. I had civil rights.
Today in media aid I orginized books and got to blog. I'm doing it right now. I'm looking forward to the rest of the year in this class.

Today is Halloween, and I can not wait until school is over. What we did today was Ms. Roof had us Sort books back into the library. This took a very long time because there were like a hundred books! But we got the job done, and I am blogging in class.
Today, we magizines and filed them away. Also, we checked books in. Lastly, Mrs.Johnston brought in her class so we checked books out for them.
October 31,2007 In media aide my class were given magazines so that we could put the dates on them. Then we changed the old magazines and replaced them for new ones. After that a class came in to check out books. We ended up checking out a lot of books.
Today in media aid Abby and I got to stay for two periods it was really fun. The first period we had to do some math work for Ms. Cheever but after that we ordered the books on the shelves with there Dewy decimal system. The second period we got bookmarks and put the dew date on them before this 8th grade class came in to check out books for their book report plus we got to check their books! Today in media aid was really FUN!

Today in media aid we made sure we had all of the books on a certain topic using a sheet of paper with a list of books on it. That was about all we did that period. It was extremely time consuming.
Today in Media Aide we checked in about 13 books. Mrs.Sweeny's class was in the library so we checked out a book. Then we highlighted books to see if they were there.

Today in media aid we checked in some books and magnitized them. There was a class in today but they didnt check out any books. We were mad! After that we had to underline books that were in the system. It was a pretty laid back day

Today I organized books for the Country Project we 6th graders will all be doing. I also spent a long time putting books back on the shelves that were not needed. I was not here last time, because I was sick and got sent home on Halloween, which was kind of lame.
Yesterday in the media center we had a large class that was checking books out. We spent most of the period checking books out as well as in. Lastly, Ms.Roof needed help making sure that the books she was removing from the library had the correct infromation.
November 2, 2007
Today's class went very slow, and it was Friday so I wanted to get out of school fast. We first chacked in books and there were not that many. Then what we did next was BOREING. Ms. Roof then had us file two cart loads of books back into the library. It took the whole class time away but in a way it was fun.
today in media aide I went to the Phoenix library.com to check what books Ms.Roof would buy for the meadows library. So I had to check off what books that the library has.
November 2nd- Today in Media Aide we first did our normal routine of checking in books, magnatizing them, and running them through the scanner. Then Ms.Roof took us over to a table and we organized all books on record to make sure they had the correct call number. This is what I did in Media Aide today.
In media aid today Abby and I really didn't do much because the AEP testing was going on, so we had to stay in the back room but we did put magnetic strips in the alot of books I checked out a book for my book report so I checked that book out but other then that we really didn't do much.

Today in Media Aide, Savannah and I had got to stay for 2 periods. It was really fun! The first period we organized the shelves with the Dewy Decimal System. It was pretty difficult! Then, we worte the date on the book marks for the 8th graders that were coming in next period. Then the 2nd period, the 8th graders came in to check out books for their book reports. It was really fun because this was the first class that we had come in to check out books!!

Today in Media Aide was kind of boring because we had to stay in the back room while the AEP testing was going on. But we did get to put the secret magnetic strips in the books the had not been put into the computer. Then, well actually that is all we did!

today we checked if ALL the books had the "secret" in them. then we stamped all the books with a madison meadows stamp. Parker had the little stamp Haley had the medium one and I had the HUGE one!!!
Today in media aid Tom,Katie, and I all cataloged books. Katie and I were working together, and Tom was working by himself. Katie scanned the books and I was the one who was typing. Katie and I had to start over a bunch of times because we kept on messing up! It was fun though!

Today in class everyone was kind of messing around so it was a fun class. We started off with going straight to back room. Ms. Roof had us display new articles and throw away the old ones from last year. But Ms. Roof had me start off on the computor, I had to get the announcements for the week like birthdays, lunch menus,and that stuff. Since we were all messing around the class went by very fast.
Today in media aide, we catalogged books. Logan and I worked on the main front computer, while Tom worked on the back one. Logan and I got about 5 done, while Tom got about 5 done too. It was pretty fun though because we got to talk a little bit.

Today, my job was to check in four books, and then to put tree glue in the bindings of some books that were falling apart. The tree glue was really sticky and got all over my fingers and hands, but I wasn't going to wash them off, no-siree. It had already been discovered a few minutes earlier that the faucet and drinking fountain suddenly shoot out bursts of water, so that was why I didn't want to use the faucet.
Today in the library we checked books in. Also, we put away books in the non-fiction section. Lastly, stamped books with the Meadow's stamp.

November 6, 2007 Today a couple of the students in my class helped check in a lot of books. Then we all magnatized the books. After that we put the books on the shelf where they belonged. We put away some of the books in numerical order.

november 4 - helped take books from the car to the library on a bookcart, also looked up books(mostly encyclopedias) on the Phoenix Public Library website.
Today in media aid, 11/2/07 we checked in books for the library. After that their was mrs. Borkowsky's eighth grade class came in and we checked out books for them. They were checking out civil rights, Vietnam war books.
Today in media aid Abby and I checked in two books and then there were two boys who came in so we checked out their books. After we were done checking in and out books we laminated book covers and then taped them on the books. Then Ms.Roof said we could bhlog really quick before the bell rang.
