Welcome to 2006-7 Meadows Library Media Aides
This year, you will write at least one paragraph every night that you had a Library Media Aide class during the day. The purpose for this assignment is to strengthen your descriptive writing skills and provide a record for yourself, your parents and for me about what you do each day during this class. I prefer 3 paragraphs of well-written, correctly spelled descriptive record of what you did during your Library Media Aide class. This blog participation is one rubric for this class. The more that you write the higher your grade will be in the class.

A class came in to ckeck out some books and went onto the computers. I will miss u Ms. Roof even though I will still see you around in the library it just wounld't be the same.

Today class was long because we were pretty much working the whole time. First we checked in a few books that should not have taken long, but Matthew and Chance made it take forever. Afterwards Ms. Roof had us file away a cart load of books. I mean this thing was full of books! It was boring but with all four of us it went by quickly. Eventually, after getting through at least half the cart of books the bell rang and I was the first one out the door.
THIS IS THE END OF THE BLOGGING FOR THE FIRST SEMESTER. You do not need to blog anymore!! LOL
I have enjoyed all of you as Library Media Aides. I hope you have a successful 2nd semester at Meadows. Please learn alot and keep reading!
In media aid today Abby and I Cataloged magazines it was pretty easy but i am not good at putting them away! After that we went to the office to ask if they needed any help then the bell rang and we had to leave.
Today 12/18/07 we helped some kids find books. Then we scanned books. Then we entered books into the system.
Today 12/20/07 we put some books into the system. Then we scanned some books. Then we magnetized books.
Today 1/7/08 we had free time. I did my homework. Then I went on the computer.
Today we checked to see if the books were magnetized. Then we put the books in order. Then we checked books out for some kids.
1/10/08- Today in media aide I didn't do anything but play on the computer. Ms.Roof wasn't here today and so that's why I didn't do anything but, playing on the computer was fun.Today is going to be my last day in media aide and I will be going to tech lab now.
Today in media aide Abby and I really did not do any thing but our homework, because we had a sub.
Today in meida aid we didnt do much. All we was put some books away and now I am blogging. Today is our last day.
Today we had a substitute. Also today is our last Media aid. I will miss this class and hopefully my other classes will turn out just as good.

Sadly, this is my last Media Aide class for the year so i'm a little sad about that. It's even worse that Ms. Roof is not here, so we a substitute. He just had us check in a couple of books and that was it. So now I get to blog early. SEE YOU NEXT YEAR!
Today in Media aid we learned how to scan books and let people check them out. I think I will like doing this. We also learned how to tape the book's numbers on the spine, and on the front of the book. We had to order the books today which was fun.
Today in Media Aid, I learned how to check out books for people and I also learned how to find out the book's code, and put in into the computer. It was really confusing.. but I think Mrs. Roof will teach us more about it on Tuesday (my next class with Media Aid.) Since I was the only one with a google account at first, I got to tape books. I got done about 20, then Katie got done and helped me with the last few. When we were done with that we got to take them to the book shelf, and put them in order from numbers. I think this class will be fun!
Today in Media Aid we just played on the computer because we had a sub. Then at the end of the day we checked in one book from the basket.
1/29/08- Today was an interesting day. First we checked the books to make sure they had their metal strip. Then we moved some books to the storage closet. Then we put the books away.
1/27/08- Today we checked the shelves. Then we put books away.
Today in Media Aid we learned how to find the book's sticker, and put it on the book. Then when we were done putting the stickers on, we taped it. We did this process to about ten to twenty five books, or more. When we were done with that, we checked in six books, but then the bell rang and we just stacked the books on the table for the next class to take care of.
Today in media aid class we just taped books up and we also put the books barcode number in the computer. The reason we did this was because some of the books had no number, and in order to let them get a number, you had to print it out on sticky stickers. We also got to scan three books and magnetize them so they would be ready to get checked out again.
Today in Media Aid we taped books , and we checked in a few books. We also put in like fifty barcodes to print out their number, so we could put them onto the books. Then it came out on sticky stickers, and we put those on the book then taped it.
Today in Media Aid, we had a class. There were eighth graders in the room looking for poem books. We got to check in about 15 books, but then the bell rang. We also got to check in a few books that were in the bin. This was a fun class today!

Today in media aid we taped books. We taped about 20-25 books and then we put them back into their cubby. Next, we put the racks by the green board in the front of the room. We had to then put the new books into a rack and separate the cardboard boxes.
Then the bell rang.
Today in media aid we just played on the smart-board for half of the class. Then a class came in so we had to shut it down. Then we took off all the things on the books we were giving away that said madison meadows.
Today in media aid we got some old books in a box and we took off anything that said Madison meadows on it. We also checked in a few books. Since my book was overdue I also renewed my book so I could have more time to read it. We also took off all the barcodes on the books so that they wouldn't find out whose it was and return it. We don't want those back. Thats about all we did today.
Today in Meadia aid we got these new books, and we got their book's cover, and we had to fold the side, middle, and other side to make it fit the book right. We did about twenty books. When we were done with that, Mrs. Roof had us put this special kind of tape on the two sides of the book so that it would stay on correctly. It was fun to do this for me because i love the smell of brand new books, and it was fun cutting out the labels for them. I'm glad I could help!
Today Lucas, Zach and I checked in alot of books yet again. Lucas scanned them I magnetized while Zach checked to see if they were magnetized correctly. Then we added some barcodes to the library and put on their barcode stickers. Da dadada dadada dats all folks!
Today I checked the books at the security scanner and helped Zach with the powerpoint sports. After that I did the birthday powerpoint. Thats all.
Today we put labels ont he books and scanned in some books. I did 2 1/2 pages of labels and helped check the books in the tester.
Today we put the side stickers on books and went to the office to help seperate the lunch menus to the teachers mailboxes.
